The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. (Psalm 9:9 ) Tsunami & Earthquake Disaster in Japan, 11th March, 2011:On March 11th, 2011, an earthquake hit north of Japan (118miles/300kms from Tokyo) causing a tsunami that caused a major disaster. The Coptic Orthodox church in Japan prays for the comfort and strength of the Lord Jesus Christ to be with the people affected by this disaster. By God's mercy, grace and protection, the parish priest and the Coptic congregation in Japan are safe (the tsunami did not reach Tokyo but the earthquake was felt). Please remember the people of Japan in your prayers and during the Holy Liturgy. We received many emails from Coptic Churches around the world. We thank you for your words of comfort and prayers. "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Psalm 18:2 |
